So impressed by Poland was the singer, dancer and songwriter that he announced he wanted to, “buy a castle in the beautiful country” and open a ‘Michael Jackson Wonderland’ theme park in Warsaw. Talks between his people and the then mayor of Warsaw, Pawel Piskorski went ahead.
The investment, thought to be as much as 500 million euros, eventually fell through in 2000 when a suitable site for the theme park could not be found and Jackson’s financial situation worsened.
