Following a dramatic protest by Polish Radio Channel Two, civil rights commissioner suggests round table talks.

Channel Two signature tune, sounds of nature, and information about the inability to carry out the public mission without adequate and steady funding is what Channel Two was airing for twenty four hours, beginning on Wednesday at 6am.
Drastic cuts in its budget are a serious threat of degradation of one of the most significant elements of the public radio's mission, says protesters. Already the cuts have had disastrous implications for the culture channel's activity.
The dramatic protest, which had the official support of Polish Radio board of directors, caused some commotion and the Commissioner for Civil Rights Janusz Kochanowski proposed that round table talks should take place to discuss the dramatic situation of the public media, especially the culture-oriented Channel Two.
The round table is supposed to convene on the 22th of July, bringing together Representatives of the Culture Ministry, Treasury Ministry, Parliamentary Commissions for Culture and Mass Media and the Radio and Television Council, as well as representatives of the public media, announced Kochanowski.
