Twenty nine years after the start of the strike in the Gdansk Shipyard, which led to the birth of Solidarity, a major festival opened in Gdansk.

The event has attracted such stars as Ian Gillan, former vocalist of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, Michael Nyman, The Choir of New College Oxford, Sir Neville Marriner and Ennio Morricone, one of the world’s most famous composers of film music.
