Crisis apart , car dealers in this country have observed a rise in sales in the first half of this year, as compared to the same months in 2008.
Agnieszka Bielawska reports
Producers and importers estimate that in June this year over 26 thousand new cars have appeared on the market, however the central register data points to a discrepancy between the number of purchases and registration of new cars. The Polish Association of the Motor Industry shows that the number of registrations has dropped despite the high sales numbers, which indicates that a huge number of cars are sold in Poland and shipped abroad, especially to Germany.
The Polish car market still largely depends on foreign buyers. Currently about 94% of production in Poland is exported.
