The European Hovercraft champion Michele Scanalino of Italy was among the participants of the Hovercraft Championships – Grand Prix Poland 2009 which took place on Lake Zegrze, north of Warsaw.

The two day event was organized by the Hovercraft Club of Poland. It brought to the artificial water reservoir near the capital 40 teams from around Europe, including three participants from Poland.
