It was meant to symbolize the health and environmental risk linked with the spreading of GMOs. Greenpeace is targeting especially the MON 810 corn seed, developed by the U.S. biotech giant Monsanto.
Lukasz Supergan, coordinator of the STOP GMO campaign in Poland, and Jadwiga Lopata from the International Coalition to Protect the Polish Countryside, an organization which has for years called for a GMO free farm sector explain why they want Poland to ban GMOs.
