The famous American director is to build an arts studio in the city.

Lynch first visited the city in 2000 for the Camerimage Festival, and his fascination with the town’s post-industrial architecture brought him back several times since then. He documented the city’s defunct 19th-century red-brick factories and the palatial residences of their owners.  Lodz served as one of the locations for his film ‘Inland Empire’.  He also staged an exhibition of his photographs and paintings in Lodz.
