The prominent Polish director Jerzy Hoffman is to make a feature film centering on thr victorious Battle for Warsaw in the 1920 Polish-Soviet War.

Seventy eight year-old Hoffman is among the veterans of Polish cinema. His credits include adaptations of three historical novels by the Nobel Prize winning author Henryk Sienkiewicz.: Colonel Wolodyjiwski, The Deluge and With Fire and Sword.
In Hoffman's view, the 1920 Polish-Soviet war was the first genuine Polish victory since the middle of the 17th century.
