Six top Polish Armed Forces commanders have been killed in the presidential plane crash at Smolensk almost four weeks ago. Though relevant military procedures have guaranteed a continuation of current operations, official replacements to the positions held by the killed generals have to be made. The most important vacancy is that of the Chief of General Staff.
