Schindler’s Factory

23.06.2010

From jovial pre-war scenes to the horror of Nazi occupation, Schindler’s Factory is an apt setting for retelling Krakow’s history throughout the Second World War.

John Beauchamp reports from Krakow

The exhibition is like a time warp, and brings back many original artefacts and requisits from the war period, while adding modern multimedia to bring this history alive. There are 30 touch screens, all equipped with English translations, as well as 70 different soundtracks.

Krakow’s Historical Museum has dubbed the exhibition as a “Factory of Memory,” giving visitors a chance to confront the city’s dramatic wartime history. More information on Schindler’s Factory and wartime exhibition can be found by going to mhk.pl/schindler.
