Lublin in eastern Poland attracts global energy giants to its potential shale gas resources

 

The rural Lublin and Podlasie basins of southeastern Poland have become major attractions for global energy giants hoping to tap into their potential shale gas resources. Exxon Mobil, Chevron and Statoil have signed deals for concessions from the ministry of the environment to explore the region for such reserves. Hopes are high with Lublin officials already talking about the "new gold rush" but environmental concerns also exist.

 

Danuta Isler visited Lublin where she talked to Łukasz Doraczyński from the Investors' Office at the local Town Hall
