Zyta Gilowska, Poland’s ex-deputy prime minister and finance minister has been reinstated to her previous government positions. This follows a court ruling that she had told the truth when she said she did not knowingly spy for Poland’s communist era secret services. She was forced to quit office in June when allegations that she had lied in a statement on the matter were made by Poland’s verring ombudsman. Announcing Gilowska’s come-back, Prime Minister Kaczynski said: ‘I am happy to see Zyta Gilowska back in my cabinet and to see an end to the cycle of unfortunate events around her. Justice has been done.’
