16.08.2007

Poland’s defense ministry estimates the costs of yesterday’s military parade marking Polish Army Day in Warsaw to be at around a million zloty or almost 360 thousand USD. Minister Aleksander Szczyg³o says was not a lot while it was an important expression of  respect for Polish soldiers. The Warsaw military parade with the participation of troops representing all kinds of the armed forces and heavy armored equipment was the first such grand parade in 30 years. It was opened by Humvee and Scorpio, followed by Twardy and Leopard tanks at the rear of the parade. Planes used by the Polish air force, including the newly bought F-16s, also flew over Warsaw. Several thousand Varsovians came to see the parade.
