A group of Polish prosecutors will travel to the United States to consult with their American colleagues on the tactic of an appeal of the negative verdict on the extradition of Edward Mazur. The Dziennik daily writes that Poles have proposed two dates for the visit: from 26 to 28 September and from 3 to 5 October.
The daily writes that by that time, the Polish prosecutors will scrutinise the verdict of 20 July issued by judge Arlander Keys, who refused to have Edward Mazur – a Polish businessman suspected of being involved in the killing of chief of Polish police general Marek Papała.
Americans suggested that in order for the decision to be reviewed and changed, the Polish motion for extradition should be supplemented by some new evidence of Mazur’s guilt.
However the daily believes it very unlikely, because according to the Polish Ministry of Justice, all the evidence in the ministry’s possession has already been sent to the USA.
