Owner of Polish football club pulls investment

02.04.2008

Owner of the Polish first division football club Kolporter Korona Kielce, Krzysztof Klicki, has informed that he is to stop sponsoring the club.

Kilicki assures he will fulfil all his obligations as Korona’s owner until the end of the season, as reported by Puls Biznesu daily.

“I’ll do my best to sell my shares in the club for a good price to ensure that the club continues as a going concern", Klicki has told a press conference.

According to media speculation, the club wants to terminate employment contracts with two of its players, Brazilian Hermes and Pole Jakub Zablocki.

Klicki’s decision comes a few days after the Central Anticorruption Agency (CBA) and police arrested six individuals involved in setting up Korona’s match results for bribes in the season 2003/2004. (mj)
