Pre-born baby 19 weeks after conception
Half a million signatures from all over the world, including about 44 thousand from Poland - this is the result of just one Internet-based campaign for the right to life and natural family for all. The petition was presented to the United Nations on the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Earlier this year, a motion has been filed at the UN to introduce a worldwide moratorium on abortion.
December the 10th marked the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which originated in the aftermath of the horrible blood bath of World War Two and especially, the Holocaust. 'The Universal Declaration of Human Rights stresses that these rights apply to absolutely everyone and here lies its deep value - to end the divisions which destroyed the world, and to introduce a universal guarantee of human rights to every individual,' says Adam Bodnar of the Helsinki Human Rights Foundation.
The right to life and family petition reminds of the values specified by the Universal Declaraion of Human Rights: the right to life and natural marriage. It was initiated by a European group of pro-family organizations as a response to the recent abortion industry demands to proclaim abortion as a human right. The International Planned Parenthood Federation, world's largest network of abortion providing centers announced they will lobby the UN to pressure for legalization of abortion worldwide.
The development of science has proven that human life begins at conception and the technology today allows us to see the faces of babies before birth moving, yawning, crying, and sleeping. We have no excuse to discriminate against pre-born children on the basis of age, says Urszula Zdanowska of the Institute of Studies on Family at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw.
'It's high time to say STOP to the ruthless abortion business which preys on women and kills our babies. Such barbaric laws are a shame in our modern times. More and more studies prove what is obvious for honest feminists - that every abortion has at least two victims: the baby and the mother. Abortion activists who deny this are usually on the payroll of abortion providers, who sell death to mothers under pressure,' adds Inga Kaluzynska, a woman rights activist of the Women for Women Foundation.
