One of Poland’s top classical musical labels, DUX Recording Producers, has received two Orphées d'Or awards from the French Academie du Disque Lyrique.
The Arturo Toscanini Memorial Award is in recognition of the label’s efforts to promote the music of Stanisław Moniuszko (1819-1872), the father of Polish national opera. His music is featured on three CDs recently produced by DUX (the operas Halka and The Raftsman, and the mass settings).
The Olivier Messiaen Memorial Award went to DUX for the best recording of choral music – a selection of Krzysztof Penderecki’s works for unaccompanied choir, performed by the Polish Chamber Choir under Jan Łukaszewski. (mk)
