• Chopin lures tourists for the summer
  • 25.06.2010

The French L’Express weekly has singled out Warsaw as the number one cultural destination this summer.

French journalists recommend tours of the newly renovated manor in Zelazowa Wola, some 60 kilometers west of the capital, the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin, and the new Chopin Museum  in Warsaw.

According to L’Express, a visit to those places is a must during the Chopin Year – the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

In the weekly’s rating of the cultural sites worth visiting this summer, Warsaw is ahead of the Robin Hood Month Activities at Nottingham Castle in Britain and the season’s cultural highlights in Brussels, Luxembourg and northern France. (mk)
