An imitation of the San Fermin Festival, which is annually held in the Spanish town of Pamplona from July 7-14, has kicked off in the central Polish town of Toruń.
The running of the bulls is not on the programme, yet there is a wide range of events promoting Spain, its music, dance, traditions and cuisine. There are talks and quizzes about Spanish culture and the Pamplona festival and a photo exhibition entitled ‘The colours of San Fermin’.
Two years ago Toruń and Pamplona concluded an agreement on cultural cooperation and joint promotional activities in their bid to win the title of the European Capital of Culture in 2016. It will be given to one city in Poland and one in Spain. (mk/jb)
