This weekend, CUNY TV in the United States is showing Andrzej Wajda’s early film "Everything for Sale", starring Elzbieta Czyzewska, one of Poland's most popular actresses of the 1960s, who died in New York last month.
Czyzewska moved to the United States in 1967 at the peak of her spectacular career in both film and the theatre, following the expulsion from Poland of her husband, the American journalist David Halberstam.
CUNY TV is a non-commercial cable station in New York City, part of the City University of New York’s university broadcast system. It shows many foreign films, especially from Poland. Earlier this year it showed Wajda’s "Katyn".
"Everything for Sale" is programmed for broadcast three times on Saturday and on Sunday. (mk/jb)
