Polish actor Daniel Olbrychski has not been invited for today’s premiere of the Hollywood film Salt, starring Angelina Jolie, even though he is in it.
The film stars Jolie as a CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy. Olbrychski appears in one of the leading roles in Salt, that of a Russian agent. His English is fairly good but in the film he is dubbed over by a native speaker.
Asked about the reason by the Super Express tabloid, Mary Powell, representing the film’s producer, did not give any explanation.
Sixty five year-old Olbrychski has played in over one hundred films, including major roles in features by Wajda, Lelouch, Michalkov and Schlondorff, alongside such stars as Marina Vlady, Michel Piccoli, Burt Lancaster and Leslie Caron. His many distinctions include the French Legion of Honour. (mk/mmj)
