Throughout August, Warsaw’s Rydz Śmigły Park will be the venue of Artpark, a summer festival boasting a rich cultural programme, with attractions ranging from film screenings, plays, music concerts and exhibitions.
The month-long event kicked off on Monday with a folk/drum’n’bass band Dwootho, followed by a street performance staged by the Klinika Lalek Theater.
The programme caters to different musical tastes, featuring concerts within genres, among the likes of jazz, soul, world music, rock’n’roll and folk. The festival highlights include a concert by jazz singers Carmen Moreno and Anna Serafińska this Saturday, alongside a performance of Polish vocalist Natu on 21 August.
This year’s novelty is the so-called Morning Arts Zone, which encompasses dance workshops, tai chi exercises, board game sessions, along with many child-oriented and cross-generational events.
The ArtPark festival has been organized by the Central Culture Institute since 2007. (ab)
