A new film by Jerzy Skolimowski, Essential Killing, has qualified for competition at the International Film festival in Venice.
The film starring Vincent Gallo and Emmanuelle Seigner is a story of an Afghan convict, taken prisoner by Americans for killing three US soldiers. During his transportation to Europe the convict escapes.
Essential Killing is a Polish production in cooperation with Norway, Ireland and Hungary.
The Venice film festival opens on September 1.
KJerzy Skolimowski’s last film, Four Nights with Anna, won the Special Jury Award at the Tokyo Film Festival in 2008. (ab)
