Some 150 guitarists gathered in front of the Town Hall in Poznań, western Poland, Sunday, as part of the Guitar Academy Festival.
The guitarists performed Sting’s Shape of My Heart.
The festival’s director, Przemysław Kieliszewski, told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) that the idea of the gig was not to break any records but to have fun and encourage people to improve their musical skills.
An additional incentive was an opportunity to win free tickets for next month’s concert of Sting, which is to grace the opening of a new sports stadium in Poznań, one of the venues of the EURO 2012.
The Polish Guitar Academy Festival is currently on in Poznań and several towns of the surrounding region, such as Pniewy, Szamotuły, Turek, Gołuchów, Gniezno and Jarocin. (mk)
