• Polish conductor Rogala in Hanoi

Jacek Rogala, Music Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Kielce, conducts  the Vietnamese Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi during the International Piano Competition.

 

The concert brought together 63 pianists between 10 and 25 years of age.  In the final stage of the event, pianists in the 18-25 age bracket will play Chopin’s concertos to mark the bicentenary of the composer’s birth.

 

An international jury is chaired by  the prominent Vietnamese pianist Dang Thai Son, the first Asian pianist to win the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, in 1980. (mk)
