Shanghai-born pianist, Mei-Ting Sun, now a resident of New York, is one of the hopefuls in the International Chopin Competition currently underway in Warsaw. We speak to one of the world’s leading classical pianists about his love for Chopin.
Mei-Ting Sun won the 17th US National Chopin Piano Competition in 2005, and went on to represent the United States in the Chopin competition in Warsaw that year (hear him playing Chopin's Etude Opus No. 10 here).
Mei-Ting Sun tells Polish Radio’s Michal Kubicki what Chopin means to him and what it's like performing in one of the world’s premier piano competitions.
The International Chopin Competition began last Sunday and the final takes place on 20 October. (pg)
