Erratum by Marek Lechki has won an award in the New Directors competition at the 46th International Film Festival in Chicago.
Fourteen debut features from around the world competed for the awards.
The main protagonist of Erratum, Michał, returns to his native town to take up a job after graduating from university in the city. He wants to avoid running into any of his old acquaintances but his plans are thwarted after he inadvertently runs over a stranger.
Forced to stay in town during the investigation, Michał must confront the choices he has made. The film probes into the questions: can one ever leave one’s past behind and can one ever really return home?
Erratum was earlier shown at the 15th Pusan International Film Festival in Asia and is scheduled for screenings at the festivals in Denver, Montreal and Leeds. (mk)
