The internationally-acclaimed baritone Mariusz Kwiecień appears as Malatesto in a new production of Gaetano Donizetti’s Don Pasquale at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Tonight’s premiere, under the baton of Music Director James Levine is a star-studded performance, with Anna Netrebko (soprano), Matthew Polenzani (tenor) and John Del Carlo (bass).
Kwiecień has sang in several productions at the Met in the last few seasons. His forthcoming engagements include the title roles in Eugene Onegin in the Polish city of Kraków and in Szymanowski’s King Roger at the Teatro Real in Madrid, as well as Marcello in Puccini’s La Boheme during the Metropolitan Opera’s tour of Japan.
