  • 01.12.2010
Sting is to appear at a concert marking the 85th anniversary of the founding of Polish Radio, Poland’s public broadcaster, to be held in Warsaw on 17 December.

The concert will also promote the new moje.polskieradio.pl service, creating 85 mini radio stations available through the web.

President of Polish Radio, Jaroslaw Hasinski says this will be an extraordinary concert for several reasons.

“Firstly, it will be live, all the performers will perform live with the Polish Radio orchestra. Secondly, […] the concert will be broadcast simultaneously by both Polish Radio Channel Three and channel two of Polish television (TVP).”

Alongside Sting, who plans to perform four of his hit songs, the young Dutch jazz vocalist Caro Emerald as well as top Polish singers and bands are billed to perform, including Perfect, T. Love, Raz Dwa Trzy, Robert Gawlinski, Maciej Malenczuk and Anna Maria Jopek. (kk/pg)
