• Winter plays havoc Camerimage festival

Bad weather has led to the disruption to flight connections between London and Warsaw, preventing actor Liam Neeson from attending the Camerimage Festival in Bydgoszcz, northern Poland.

The star of Spielberg’s Schindler’s List was due to collect the Krzysztof Kieślowski Memorial Award last night at the festival.

Polish-born director Agnieszka Wójtowicz-Vosloo -  whose film After Life, with Neeson in the lead, was shown last night - has said that Neeson was delighted to be honoured with the Kieslowski Award.

“During our first discussion about After Life, we talked about Kieslowski for more than half an hour’, she said.

Camerimage ranks among the world’s most prestigious festivals devoted exclusively to the art of cinematography. The festival ends tomorrow. (mk)
