• Depardieu to star in Polish-French co-production
  • 23.12.2010

French actor Gerard Depardieu is most likely to play the lead in a new film by Polish director Jan Jakub Kolski.

Entitled My Mother Airam, with a script by Kolski, the film is a story of fatherhood. The main protagonist,  Marco, lives in the middle of nowhere. A woman arrives at his home, bears him a child and leaves him with the infant under his sole care.

Depardieu is said to like the script and wants to accept the director’s offer but the final decision will be taken after talks with the producer.

My Mother Airam is a Polish-French co-production. Fifty four year-old Kolski has made a name as the founder of the so-called ‘magical realism’ in Polish cinema.
