Acclaimed Polish film director Jerzy Skolimowski is to receive a Legend Award at a ceremony on Thursday as part of the ongoing Capri Hollywood Festival.

Skolimowski, who wins the award along with fellow film-maker Dario Argento, will also talk at a session of a forum entitled “More Culture = Less Crime”, as well as hosting a preview of his latest release, Essential Killing.

At a ceremony on Thursday evening, the director will pick up his Legend Award. Jerzy Skolimowski is expected to take his picture to the famed Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, noted for screening a number of foreign films possibly nominated for the coveted Oscar award.

Earlier in the year, Essential Killing picked up a Special Jury award at this year’s Venice Film Festival, with Vincent Gallo picking up the Best Actor award for his portrayal of a Taliban fighter who does not utter a single word throughout the film. (jb)
