Beijing is the last stop on the Asian tour of the Warsaw Philharmonic , which is to play under Antoni Wit in Beijing along with the winner of the 2010 Chopin Piano Competition, Yulianna Avdeeva.


The two planned performances in the Chinese capital will include Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in  E minor.

The concerts are to take place at the concert hall of the National Opera in Beijing, one of the best such performance centres in the world, director Antoni Wit told Polish Radio.

Before the performances in China, the Warsaw Philharmonic played in Japan in Tokyo, Osaka and Sapporo, accompanied by five pianist-laureates of the 2010 Chopin Competition. (ab/jb)
