Magdalena Tul is to represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest in Germany this May.

Tul's entry, Jestem (I Am) received 44 percent of votes cast via text-message during the elimination contest last night in Warsaw.

Experienced Eurovision-watchers will not be surprised by the choice as Tul’s entry was one of the favourites to go through to the semi-finals in Dusseldorf.

“I can't believe I have won! Representing Poland in Eurovision is an honour for me,” Tul, 30 years old from Gdansk, said after the show last night, broadcast live on TVP public television.
