Kieth Flint - still a twisted firestarter?

The Prodigy have been announced as the head-liners who will fire-start this year's Przystanek Woodstock Festival.

The Brit beatmasters, who have sold more than 25 million records worldwide, were founded in 1990, becoming one of the the first acts to cross over from the underground rave scene into the mainstream.

The Przystanek Woodstock Festival, named in tribute to America's flower power extravaganza of 1969, was founded in 1995, and it is one of Europe's largest open-air events. About 450,000 attended in 2009.

Organised by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation – one of the most successful fundraising organisations in Poland – the festival runs the gamut from rock to reggae to folk.

This year's incarnation will be held from 4 to 6 August at Kostrzyn nad Odra, right on the German border.

As always leading lights in culture, sport and politics will be attending the event, and taking part in discussions with the festival-goers. (nh)
