• Krakow to add spice to Bollywood?

The star of Indian cinema Amitabh Bachchan is to support Krakow in its efforts to lure Bollywood film production teams to the city. 

 

 

President of Kraków, Jacek Majchrowski, has presented the actor with  the symbolic keys to the city gates. 

 

 

“Amitabh Bachchan is among the most popular actors in the world. Our intention is to enter into a wide-ranging cooperation with Bollywood,” Majchrowski said. 

 

 

Bachchan, who is also a producer, is said to be planning to make his next film in Kraków.

 

 

He is the guest of the Off Plus Camera Festival currently held in Kraków. He has toured Alvernia Studios near the city and has held a meeting with university students.

 

 

Amitabh Bachchan is a living legend of Bollywood, with roles in over 150 films.  He was voted the most popular actor of the millennium in a BBC online poll in 1999.

 

 

Last year a Bollywood action film Mujijahir (The Outlaw) was shot on location in and around Kraków.  (mk)
