Commuters in Minsk got a deadly shock yesterday during rush hour as a bomb exploded in the intersecting lines of the Oktrabrskaya metro station in the city centre, killing 12 people and leaving over 150 wounded.  
 
While the loss of life is tragic and the material damage immense, the potential political ramifications remain to be seen, though a crackdown on opposition movements is expected.
