Wojciech Kuczok, poet, prose writer, film critic, screenwriter was born in 1972 in Chorzow, Silesia. He is a graduate of the Polish Studies department of the University of Silesia.

His first volume of poetry, Canny Stories (1996) went unnoticed by the critics – but his first prose work, Audible Stories (1998), and quite a splash and was nominated for the prestigious NIKE Awards. The book received a prize from the Polish Book Publisher’s Society in 2000.
