Hundreds of aviation enthusaists from around Poland are heading to the Frederic Chopin Airport in Warsaw to see the landing of Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world.

The giant plane, owned by Lufthansa, is scheduled for arrival at 7.40 CET to add splendour to 40th anniversary of the German airline’s presence on the Polish market.

“The plane will fly from Frankfurt and it may arrive earlier due to bad weather conditions predicted for Saturday. So if someone wants to take a good photo, they should come at 7 CET and find a place by the Cargo Terminal,” advises Radoslaw Oleksiak, a plane spotter.

Oleksiak reveals that in spite of bad weather several hundred spotters are expected to arrive at the Frederic Chopin Airport in Warsaw to watch Airbus A380 land. “There will be a large group of spotters from Warsaw, Katowice, Krakow and Poznan,” says Oleksiak.

Those who will not be able to see the plane with a naked eye, can watch the landing on the Chopin Airport’s account on Facebook.

The Airbus A 380, nicknamed the SuperJumbo, is a double-deck, four-engine airliner, the largest in the world. It made its maiden flight in April 2005 and its first commercial flight in October 2007. It provides seating for up to 853 passengers. (mg/jb)
