  • 14.12.2006
Andrzej Lepper, chairman of SelfDefense – a junior party in the ruling coalition, has dismissed from party ranks MP Stanislaw Lyzwinski, accused of sexual abuse of party staff.

Lepper has been forced to make the move after the scandal involving the SelfDefense MP who is being accused of sexual harassment by a female employee of his parliamentary office.

Earlier, the woman had alleged Lyzwinski is the father of her two-year-old daughter. DNA tests have not confirmed this, but the Prosecutors Office is continuing investigation of the harassment charges.

Andrzej Lepper said he cannot force Lyzwinski to forfeit his parliamentary immunity to stand questioning, as the MP is no longer a SelfDefense member. Stanislaw Lyzwinski is not the only SelfDefense politician accused of sex crimes.

The Prosecutors Office has already received several more charges filed by women employed in the party’s organizational structures.
