The 8th annual Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles starts tonight Organized by the Polish American Film Society the event is held under the auspices of the First Lady of the Republic of Poland, Maria Kaczynska and the Polish state television TVP.
For the eighth time the most recent achievements of Polish cinema will be presented to the American audience, including: “What the Sun Has Seen” by Michal Rosa and “Jasminum” by Jan Jakub Kolski.
Several Polish actors are expected to appear in Los Angeles, among them: Jan Frycz, Karolina Gruszka and Piotr Adamczyk.
The festival which lasts till May 3rd will present the Hollywood Eagle Award to the best film of the event.
Tonight’s Opening Gala will also feature a screening of “Inland Empire” the latest David Lynch feature film. During the ceremony Mr. Lynch will be presented with the Amicus Poloniae - "Friend of Poland" award. More info at www.polishfilmla.org
