Poland's general sanitary inspection has completed the inquiry into the mysterious tropical disease that Poland's post-communist president Aleksander Kwasniewski claimed to suffer from, when he was asked by journalists whether he was under the influence of alcohol at a public meeting on Tuesday in Szczecin.

Kwasniewski's suspicious behavior was noted by witnesses of the events and one journalist asked him whether he had had anything to drink. Kwasniewski replied he hadn't, but added that he was under the influence of drugs because of a tropical disease he had contracted while in the Philippines.

The general sanitary inspection opened an investigation into the matter, fearing that Kwasniewski might be spreading an infectious disease. Now Aleksander Kwasniewski's personal doctor has sent in explanations to the effect that Kwasniewski has no disease that would be dangerous to the people around him
