An autopsy has revealed that Olympic hammer thrower Kamila Skolimowska died last week as a result of a blockage to the pulmonary artery in her heart.

The twenty six year old gold winning medalist in the 2000 Sidney Olympic Games collapsed in Portugal during a training session, last Wednesday, after complaining she had felt unwell for several days.

Full results from the autopsy will be released later this week. (pg)
