Gdansk police set up a trap for local drug dealers and successfully arrested seven men – including university students and salesmen from a local shopping mall in the Baltic Sea city.
According to Joanna Kosinska from the regional police department, police found notes detailing specific drug transactions in an apartment belonging to one of those arrested – a 24-year-old man.
Two of the arrested – a 26-year-old and a 23-year-old – worked in a shopping mall and sold drugs out of their shop.
With help from the dean of students and employees at one of Gdansk’s universities, police arrested three students involved in drug trafficking in their dormitory. The students were from the United States, Iran and the UK. Police found 490 ecstasy tablets in the room.
As well, police seized passports that showed that the students frequently travelled to the Netherlands.
All five men face up to ten years in prison for drug trafficking. (mmj)
