Forbes magazine’s annual list of the richest in the world finds that the wealthiest person in Poland is Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, owner of the private television station Polsat.

Solorz-Zak is the 701st richest person on the planet, and he is the only Polish businessperson on the list. Last year featured six billionaires from Poland, a decline mirrored world-wide as the financial crisis eats into the fortunes of the world’s most wealthy.

Solorz-Zak returns to the he ranking after one year’s absence, reveals Forbes. His present position is a result of the successful debut of Polsat Cyfrowy – the digital satellite TV company - on the stock exchange. He also owns an invest bank, as well as the pharmaceutical enterprise Bioton.
