• Travel record between UK and Poland despite economic crisis
  • 16.03.2009

Flights between the UK and Poland increased by 15 percent in 2008, says the Britain’s Civil Aviation Authority.

Last year 671,000 flights went between the two countries, a record figure.

The increase in travel is all the more remarkable at a time when, for the first time in 17 years, the number of flights in and out of Britain in general fell compared to the previous 12 months, due to depreciation of pound sterling to the euro and rising unemployment.

The Civic Aviation Authority figure also show that even at a time when no-frills airlines are cutting back on routes to Poland – as airports in increase costs – demand for air flight remains high in Poland. (pg)
