• Boruc dropped for San Marino clash
  • 30.03.2009

After his bumbling performance against Northern Ireland on Saturday, Celtic keeper Artur Boruc has been dropped for Poland’s next game against minnows San Marino on Wednesday.

National coach Leo Beenhakker said that he had spoken to Boruc after the 2 – 3 defeat to Northern Ireland – a defeat that the Polish keeper played a major part in, being to blame for the first and third goal – and said that he told him that it would be better if he “went back to Glasgow.”

Beenhakker had earlier admitted that he would not have played the out of form Celtic keeper if Lukasz Fabianski had not been injured, though Arsenal’s second choice keeper will be fit for the next match in Group 3 on April 1. (pg)
