• Poland’s President and Prime Minister to meet Obama in Prague

It has been officially confirmed that Poland’s President Lech Kaczynski and the PM Donald Tusk will meet the US President Barack Obama during the EU summit in Prague on 5 April.

 

The private meeting will start at 16.30 CET and will last 30 minutes.

 

Although the meeting is supposed to be informal, PM Donald Tusk is hoping to discuss with Barack Obama the construction, or not, of the US anti-missile shield in Poland. Obama is known to be have doubts about an idea that originated during the administration of his predecessor.

 

During the EU summit in Prague the US President will hold an open meeting with the heads of several EU countries. Issues approached at the summit will include energetic security, climate change, foreign politics with reference to the Middle East, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as economic partnership between the EU and US.
