A Pole working as a telemarketer in Portsmouth, southern England, last week called a company posing as a travel agency and heard a message on the answering machine inviting Polish immigrants for a trip to Auschwitz, informs Polish Radio London.
“Welcome to Waffen SS travel services. In the following months we will be providing Polish immigrants with a trip to Belsen, Dachau, Treblinka, Sobibor und Auschwitz. All suitcases and transportation will be provided free of charge by Waffen SS. This advert was proudly sponsored by Deutch Chemicals Manufacturer of Zyklon-B”, said the message in a fake German accent.
The hoax message was recorded on the answering machine of a company based in Wakefield, Yorkshire.
The spokesman of the Yorkshire Police assured Thenews.pl that they will open an investigation to check whether a race hate crime was committed as soon as they receive suitable documents on that matter from the Hampshire Police, where the complaint was made on Friday. The documents are expected to arrive at the end of this week.
