• Two Poles injured in Afghanistan

Two Polish soldiers have been slightly injured after their patrol was attacked close to the Four Corners Base Ghazni province, Afghanistan.

 

An incident happened on Wednesday around 9:35 local time, spokesperson of Polish contingent in Afghanistan, Major Marcin Gil said.

 

Rocket-propelled grenades and shotguns fired at the patrol when it was going to help Afghan policemen under attack from insurgents.

 

The attackers fled leaving behind their weapons. The sounded Poles were taken to hospital where superficial injuries were diagnosed. Today, they came back to the Ghazni base were they are originally deployed.

 

Two thousand Polish troops are currently deployed in Afghanistan with 200 more held in reserve. (jg)
